We’d like to welcome Amee, who has joined our US team!
My name is Amee Peña and I currently reside in Boulder, Colorado. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Colorado State University (Go Rams!).
After earning my degree, I worked as an Environmental Health Specialist at a medical research facility. My main job duty was to audit the research labs on campus for safety and compliance. The majority of my work included chemical safety, i.e. checking SDS sheets and chemical SOPs, checking chemical compatibility, checking waste segregation, updating the online chemical inventory, and participating in the rollout of the new Chemical Hygiene Plan. I also performed routine industrial hygiene tasks that included fume hood certifications, instrument calibrations, and indoor air quality assessments.I have learned a lot about communicating effectively with my peers and to research faculty and staff, writing detailed reports, and working on a team.
In my spare time I love to travel and meet new people, backpack with friends, and hang out with my puppy. I currently live with my boyfriend Keelan and our dog Shy in our Airstream trailer!
I am very excited to be joining the Chemwatch team! I am looking forward to growing further this industry and to work with the talented people here at Chemwatch.
